Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Hijab Wedding Dresses
Planning a made-to-measure bridal gown from another country naturally comes with questions. This guide explains how Fatma Sevildi Couture custom hijab wedding dresses are ordered, measured, handcrafted in our Istanbul atelier, reviewed before shipping and delivered internationally. You will also find clear information about modest customization, bridal veils, sizing, production timing, customs and made-to-order policies.
Ordering a Custom Hijab Wedding Dress
Start here if you are choosing a gown or preparing to place your bridal order.
Are Fatma Sevildi wedding dresses made to measure?
Yes. Fatma Sevildi Couture bridal gowns are produced individually according to the measurements and design details confirmed for each order. The standard size selected on a product page works as an ordering reference, while your submitted measurements are used for the made-to-measure process.
You can review the complete process on our How It Works page.
Can I order a hijab wedding dress online without visiting Istanbul?
Yes. Our international bridal process is designed so that you can choose your gown, submit your measurements and communicate with our atelier without travelling to Istanbul for fittings. Your gown is produced from the measurements and design information confirmed for your order.
Which collection should I start with?
For full-coverage bridal designs, begin with our Hijab Wedding Dresses. You can also explore Muslim Wedding Dresses and Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses depending on the silhouette and level of coverage you prefer.
Do I need to contact you before placing an order?
You can order directly from the website. However, we recommend contacting our atelier before ordering if your wedding date is approaching, you need a specific modesty adjustment, or you are unsure about measurements, design details or timing.
For individual bridal questions, visit our Contact and Bridal Support page.
What information should I send when asking for bridal guidance?
Please share the design you are considering, your wedding or event date and the questions or customization requests you would like us to review. This gives our atelier team the information needed to guide you more accurately before production.
Measurements, Sizing and Fit
Accurate measurements are the foundation of an international made-to-measure bridal order.
When do I send my body measurements?
After placing your order, your current body measurements are submitted for review before production. Measurements and required customization details must be confirmed as part of the custom production process.
Should I send my measurements in centimeters or inches?
Please send your production measurements in centimeters. Double-check each measurement before submitting it, and use your current body measurements rather than relying only on a standard clothing size.
Which measurements may be required for my wedding dress?
Required measurements can vary according to the gown. They may include bust or chest, waist, hips, shoulder measurements, upper-body dimensions, sleeve length, biceps, garment length and the heel height you plan to wear.
For detailed guidance, read our bridal measurement guide.
What if my measurements change after I submit them?
Contact our team as soon as possible. A made-to-measure gown is produced from the measurements confirmed for your order, so changes should be communicated before production progresses whenever possible.
Will a made-to-measure dress ever need a local alteration?
It can. Because an international made-to-measure gown is created without an in-person fitting, a minor local adjustment such as hem or sleeve refinement may sometimes be appropriate after delivery.
Do all gowns have the same corset or fit construction?
No. Bridal construction varies by design. Some gowns may include structured corsetry, lace-up backs or other fit features, while others use a different construction. Always use the individual product page as the final reference for the fit features of the gown you are considering.
Modest Coverage, Hijab and Customization
Questions about coverage should be confirmed before your gown enters production.
Can I request additional modest coverage?
Depending on the design, suitable adjustments may include additional lining, increased coverage, neckline changes, longer sleeves or other modest modifications. Contact our atelier before production so the request can be reviewed for the specific gown you have selected.
Are your wedding dresses designed for hijab brides?
Fatma Sevildi Couture specializes in modest bridalwear including hijab wedding dresses, Muslim wedding dresses and long sleeve bridal gowns. Many designs focus on high necklines, long sleeves, refined coverage and coordinated bridal styling. Exact construction and coverage depend on the individual gown.
Is a veil or headscarf included with every wedding dress?
Not necessarily. Veils, headscarves, petticoats and other bridal pieces can vary from one design to another. Please check the package contents on the individual product page before ordering.
Separate options can also be explored in our Bridal Veils and Headscarves collection.
Can I wear a veil over my bridal hijab?
Yes, a veil can be styled over a bridal hijab when it suits the gown and the look you want to create. Some brides prefer a clean hijab-only finish, while others choose a veil for additional movement and a more traditional bridal effect.
Compare the options in our Hijab and Veil Styling Guide.
Can I choose between different bridal silhouettes?
Yes. Our collections include different bridal silhouettes and levels of volume. Rather than choosing according to a strict body-type rule, consider the movement, structure, venue and bridal presence you want.
Our Modest Wedding Dress Silhouette Guide explains several common options.

Understand what happens after your design details and measurements are confirmed.
Where are Fatma Sevildi wedding dresses made?
Fatma Sevildi Couture bridal gowns are handcrafted in our Istanbul atelier in Türkiye. Each made-to-measure bridal order is produced individually according to the confirmed design and measurements rather than through a standard mass-production process.
When does production begin?
Production begins after payment and the required measurements and customization details have been confirmed. Once production starts, the order is treated as a custom made-to-order piece under our applicable policies.
How long does a custom wedding dress take to produce?
Standard production is typically around 2 to 3 weeks. Timing can vary according to the complexity of the gown, requested customizations and seasonal production demand.
If your wedding date is fixed or approaching, please contact us before ordering so the available timeline can be reviewed.
Will I see my finished wedding dress before it is shipped?
Yes. Final photos of the completed bridal piece are shared before dispatch so you can review the overall appearance and craftsmanship before your order leaves the atelier.
Are handmade bridal gowns completely identical to one another?
Handmade couture pieces can have small natural variations in details such as lace placement, embroidery positioning or fabric texture. The exact materials, construction and included pieces for your selected gown should always be checked on its individual product page.

Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?

What if my wedding date is very close?
Contact our atelier before placing the order and provide your wedding date and destination. We can then review whether the available production and delivery timeline is suitable before production begins.
Returns, Cancellations and Order Policies

Please review our Refund Policy before purchasing.
Can I cancel my order before production starts?
Cancellation may only be possible while production has not yet started. Where applicable, a partial refund may be considered and design consultation, preparation or transaction costs may be deducted. Once production has started, cancellation or refund is not available.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged or there is a production error?
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide clear photos together with a description of the issue. If the issue is confirmed to be our responsibility, the available solution is assessed according to our Refund Policy.
Who is responsible if incorrect measurements are submitted?
Each gown is created from the measurements provided for the order. Fit issues resulting from incorrect or incomplete measurements, or body changes after measurements are submitted, are addressed according to our made-to-measure policy. Please measure carefully and contact our team if you need guidance before submitting your final measurements.
